Things you should know…
Confidentiality & Privacy – All of our staff have signed confidentiality agreements and we are dedicated to ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality. We cannot guarantee the privacy of anything sent to us by email so we recommend you contact the office by phone for all inquiries.
Missed Appointments & Cancellation Fees – We do charge for ALL missed appointments. If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice to ensure you will not be charged for the visit.
First Visit / Meet and Greet – If it is your first visit to the practice please note it is to gather your medical history and introduce you to the practice. We won’t be addressing medical issues on this visit unless it is urgent. A follow-up visit will be booked to address your medical concerns.
Hospital Care – If you are a patient of Dr. Andre Kirsten, Dr. Marisa Van Der Vyver, Dr. Belinda van der Berg’s, Dr. Philip Kubara, Dr. Helena Czubernat, Dr. Wendy Ackermann or Dr. Andrew Deans and you are admitted to hospital, all of our doctors do have hospital privileges and will look after you during your hospital stay.
Obstetric Care – We do not provide obstetric care. If you are pregnant we will refer you to the person of your choice for your pregnancy and delivery. After delivery we will gladly look after you and your baby again.
Referral to a Specialist – Before any referral is arranged, you must see the doctor for pre-consultation information gathering and investigations to facilitate a faster and more effective consultation.
Locums – If one of the doctors happens to be away we will do our best to find a locum.
Minor Procedures
We are able to do some minor procedures in the office including:
- Freezing of warts
- Biopsy and excision of moles
- Drainage of abscesses
- Stitching of lacerations
- Removal of stitches
- Ear syringing
Unfortunately cosmetic procedures are not covered by MSP.
Any doctor’s letter or form that you need filled will be subject to a fee as stipulated by MSP. Please look under “uninsured services” on this website for details.
